xxxTRUSTxxx wrote:just checking in on this, yet another EVE is dying thread. get a life scrubs, do you sit pondering the lifespan of your fecking cup of coffee this morning, or like the rest of us, enjoyed it and gave it little or no thought apart from mmmm nice.
ffs people.
can someone start a "The sun is dying" thread. makes as much sense.
OP if you like the game play it.
But the sun *is* dying. For another five billion years approximately.
Also, everywhere one goes there's always that guy who holds up the placard that screams, "DOOOOOM!". I don't mean the doom where we get to kill demons with our bare hands, mind.

Iron Breaker wrote:The problem is there i really no place in EVE for casual players. The top 10% who enjoy harassing other players chase away the casual (paying) players.
Rather then spending time tinkering with the interface for the thousandth time, they need to add some layer to the game which players can use to defend them selves from griefers.
IMHO
Tanking, warp core stabilizers (multiples of them), local chat contact list, the standing and security status system, D-scan, bookmarks system (use this for instant-undock and 0km dock bookmarks, perches, scouting bookmarks, etc) your own common sense and interpersonal skills. You are not lacking in ways to protect yourself from griefers. The problem is you didn't bother trying to find out how to avoid getting griefed and then blame it on the game lacking things like regulation against griefers.
Get educated and be vigilant. If you get griefed in here it's most likely because you didn't do either or both of the aforementioned.

Iron Breaker wrote:Oh please, all that junk is meaningless when a gang of 20-30 come tearing through your space, all you can do is sit in station and spin.
Offgrid instant-undock bookmarks. Drop that with a fast MWD frigate during peaceful times and use it every time you undock.
0m instant-dock bookmarks. Warp to this and as soon as the station shows up on grid you select station and spam the dock button.
D-scan and local will warn you of impending blob. Especially when the local number spikes up. Use short D-scan 1AU - 5AU and you will be warned of incoming blob (make sure to spam it. Hotkey that D-scan scan button). Use the time to align and get out.
If you are crazy/awesome/crazy-awesome enough to fight a 20-30 man gang fly a fast long range vessel of preferably cruisers (or smaller/larger if you are good enough) and learn to split the enemy gang on-grid. Do not allow anyone of them to get outside of 150km of each other, target the ones closest to you (usually tacklers) and keep transversal down by going straight line.
You HAVE TOOLS to deal with 20-30 man blob. The problem is you didn't know and you didn't bother to find out about these tools.

Also, pointing out that if suspecting bubbles around station set up by 20-30 guys out in nullsec, combine offgrid instant undock with interceptors (bubble immunity) to scout and confirm bubble.
